Why Choose the Space Coast for Your Central Florida Home?

I love taking the hour drive over to Orlando.We have so many recreational options here on the Space Coast, and the Orlando area is a big reason why. From Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studios, LegoLand, Fun Spot and so much more...the choices are almost endless.I really like having all those options close by...but I love living on Space Coast...and here are my reasons why:1. Traffic by the attractions and throughout the City of Orlando (like any large metro areas) is horrendous. In high season (around holidays and through the summer) the traffic is truly unbearable! Traffic in Brevard County rarely even approaches heavy. During our high season (December through March), traffic is perfectly acceptable.2. The Space Coast has A list of attractions that fit my lifestyle better! The oceanfront towns of Cocoa Beach, Satellite Beach, Indian Harbour Beach, Indialantic and Melbourne Beach all have something Orlando does not have...The Beach! When visiting with kids the attractions are way too much fun...but for living life on a daily basis, there is truly nothing like waking up and taking a walk along the Atlantic Ocean or watching the sunrise (if you can get up early enough)! We also have the Space Center and Port Canaveral!3 The weather is better on the coast! Cool winter days tend to stay a little warmer along the coast (average high temps in the winter are in the low to mid 70s) and hot summer days tend to stay cooler. The ocean breeze will often keep us 3-5 degrees cooler and the breeze itself can be a welcome relief in July and August!4. Brevard County has one of the highest rated school systems in the State of Florida. For those moving here with kids, the schools along the beach as well as those in and West Melbourne are highly sought after!5. Since We are not a "Tourist area" the majority of the jobs available are not tourist related jobs. We have many high tech and defense employers that call the Space Coast home including Harris Corp, Northrop Grumman, DRS, GE, SpaceX and even Boeing. We do have our share of tourist jobs as well (including at the Kennedy Space Center and Port Canaveral, which is one of the largest passenger ports in the world).6. Orlando-Melbourne International Airport. Last but not least I love flying in and out of the Orlando-Melbourne International Airport because it is so easy to fly through. Serviced by some large carriers (Delta and U.S. Airways) it is a great alternative to fly without spending hours online at the Orlando International Airport. Bonus...finding your car or getting picked up at the airport could not be easier!!!7. Near Everything. Within a 3 hour drive you can be in so many amazing destinations: Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, Daytona Beach, St Augustine and much more! Something You do not See Every Day....

...So, I was on my way to the beach this morning for a nice 6 mile run. Coming out of my neighborhood I look up at the roof of one of my neighbor's homes and see this... It is an Eagle!Now not many people may know this, but at the Kennedy Space Center they have an eagle sanctuary (it is about 20 miles north of my neighborhood). We also have a neighborhood about 15 miles south of me called Eagle Lake, and it also has land set aside as an eagle sanctuary. I wonder if this big fellow (he had about a six food wing span) was on his way from one to the other?
